The Amazon and Beyond
exhibit at the Miami Metrozoo now offers a 20-minute interactive show
called Quetzal's World, with an original script and costumed
storyteller who plays the role of Quetzal, a sacred bird to the Aztecs and
Mayans. The bird transports the audience to a 'magical time and place'
through stories and songs where an ecological mystery has occurred. By
helping to solve the mystery, the audience learns about tropical American
ecology and how animals adapt. Quetzal's World is performed twice
daily, at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. weekdays and at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
weekends and holidays at Amazon and Beyond's main stage.
Miami Metrozoo is at 12400 SW 152nd St.
