Fantasy Theatre Factory (FTF) is casting versatile professional performers for its 2026–2027 Touring Season, producing fast-paced, comedic, physically-driven theatre for school and family audiences across South Florida and beyond.

 

This is a season casting call for multiple productions.

2026-2027 TOURING SEASON:

FTF is casting for the following productions:

  • OCT 2026 – Little Monster Tales

  • NOV–DEC 2026 – Scrooge! A Fractured Christmas Carol

  • JAN–FEB 2027 – Fantasy Stew

  • FEB–MAR 2027 – Heroes In My House: A Magical Journey Through Black History

  • APR 2027 – Eco Trivia Challenge

  • MAY–JUL 2027 – Cinderella: A Fractured Fairy Tale

 

Rehearsals begin approximately one month prior to each production’s opening.


WHO WE ARE:​

Fantasy Theatre Factory (FTF) is a professional touring theatre company founded in 1978 and incorporated in 1982. Based in Miami, FTF produces hundreds of performances annually and is the managing company of the Sandrell Rivers Theater.

 

Our work is bold, theatrical, comedic, and highly physical—rooted in slapstick, character work, and ensemble storytelling.

THE FTF TOURING MODEL (READ BEFORE APPLYING):

FTF touring is a professional model in which actors serve as both performers and crew.

 

Touring casts are expected to:

  • load and unload touring vehicles

  • set up and strike scenery, props, costumes, and sound equipment

  • run assigned backstage/show responsibilities

  • perform in schools, theaters, libraries, and non-traditional spaces

  • engage directly and professionally with student and family audiences

 

This work requires stamina, reliability, and strong ensemble professionalism.


WHAT WE ARE SEEKING:​

FTF is looking for performers who are:

  • strong comedic actors with clear storytelling skills

  • highly physical movers (dance training is welcome but not required)

  • comfortable playing multiple roles and characters

  • confident with direct audience interaction

  • professional, reliable, and ensemble-minded

  • comfortable performing for school audiences during daytime hours

 

Bonus skills (not required): improvisation, puppetry, character voices, musicianship, bilingual ability.


COMPENSATION:​

FTF contracts are paid.

  • $75–$150 per show (depending on venue and booking type)

  • $40 per rehearsal block

 

Specific contract terms are provided at the time of offer.


REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:​

Rehearsals are held at the Sandrell Rivers Theater in Miami.

  • 4-hour rehearsal blocks

  • primarily Monday–Friday

  • within daytime hours (schedule varies by production).


PERFORMANCE / TOURING DETAILS:​

Performances are scheduled throughout South Florida and beyond.

  • weekday school bookings are common

  • some weekend/evening bookings occur

  • touring schedules are shared as bookings are confirmed

 

FTF touring is a team-based model and requires flexibility and professionalism.


HOUSING:​

FTF does not provide local housing in South Florida. Performers must be Miami-based or able to commute reliably.

 

For out-of-region touring, FTF provides hotel accommodations, per diem, and transportation when applicable.

 
WHAT TO PREPARE:​

Please prepare:

  • One 60–90 second comedic monologue

  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement

  • Bring a printed or digital copy of your headshot and resume

You may be asked to read sides at the audition.


HOW TO SUBMIT:

 

Audition appointments will be scheduled in advance.​


REQUIREMENTS:​

All performers must:

  • be legally eligible to work in the United States

  • pass a Level 2 background check

  • have reliable transportation

  • be able to present valid ID/driver’s license for school venue check-in
