A Message to Our Patrons Regarding COVID-19

Thursday, July 2nd, 2020

Dear Valued Patrons of Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater,

A couple of weeks ago we released plans for our reopening as part of Miami-Dade’s New Normal. We couldn’t wait to see all of you and to share the joy of the arts in person with you again. Unfortunately, we’re all going to have to wait a little bit longer. We’ve been monitoring the situation with the new COVID-19 infection rates across our State and our County, and the numbers are alarming—new records almost daily. The health and safety of you, our valued guests and our staff is our top priority; that is why we’re announcing today that we are delaying our plans to reopen.

We will still host our very small, socially distanced in-person summer camp on site, but all other events will be canceled or moved online. I invite you to check back on our website frequently, FTFshows.com and our Facebook page facebook.com/ftfshows for more updates and to enjoy more of our virtual programming, including our upcoming July 4th Concert, Realizing the Dream—Songs for Justice.

I know that this postponement of our reopening is disappointing, but rest assured that we will reopen one day soon, just as soon as it is safe to do so.

Wishing you all a speedy return to normal,

Larry Fields
Executive Artistic Director/CEO

Dear supporter of the arts,

We hope that you and your family are safe and secure during this unprecedented moment in our history. We also hope that you are following the CDC’s guidelines for social distancing, regular hand washing, and staying Safer At Home, so that together we can stop the spread of COVID-19.

At Fantasy Theatre Factory our greatest concern is for our valued guests, community partners, staff members, artists, and technicians. That’s why we have been following the guidance of Federal, State and Miami-Dade County officials to do our part to slow the spread of this pandemic - for us, that means canceling all performances through at least April 30th. Together we will flatten the curve.

We want to bring our great programs back to the stage just as soon as it is safe to do so. As of now, it looks like we may be able to resume some limited programming in the month of May, based on the latest State, Local, and Federal guidance. The situation with COVID-19 is fluid and subject to change; that makes it particularly difficult for arts and cultural organizations like ours to set dates specific at this time. The bottom line is this: We hope to be back SOON— bringing you and your family the kind of life-affirming joy that can only come from participation in the arts. This is our commitment to you. We hope you too will make a commitment to attend and support the arts with your patronage as soon as we are all able to come together once again. The arts unify us across every difference and divide, it's more important now than ever that we come together in celebration of what makes us most human-- Art and its live, in-person expression.

Be among the first to know when our programs start back up by following us on Facebook, and by checking in on our Website. We have some great programs planned and we can’t wait to see you again!

Together we will overcome this global pandemic, and we will emerge stronger and more resilient than ever. One thing is for sure at Fantasy Theatre Factory: The Show Must Go On!

Just as soon as we have confirmed dates for our rescheduled programs for this season, you will be the first to know!

Effective immediately all Fantasy Theatre Factory touring shows and Sandrell Rivers Theater programming will be postponed until further notice.

In order to ensure public safety in the month of March, we are canceling 50 touring shows and 11 events at the Sandrell Rivers Theater. We will continue to asses COVID-19 for our April programming. Fantasy Theatre Factory has the hope to be up and running as soon as possible.

Fantasy Theatre Factory (FTF)’s primary focus is the health and well-being of all our patrons, artists, volunteers, and staff. We continue to follow the recommendations of public health authorities, local, state and federal agencies in monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are following the established Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended facility maintenance and personal hygiene guidelines to limit exposure and spread of the virus.

While the immediate health risk from COVID-19 is considered relatively low in Miami-Dade County, the Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater has intensified its cleaning practices across its facility and provided training to staff to ensure these practices are followed. Precautionary measures include the deployment of additional hand sanitizers and the daily and rigorous disinfection of all high-touch surface areas.

Currently, some FTF-produced performances will be rescheduled for the Summer and outside presented performances will continue as scheduled. Our Box Office policies remain in effect for all performances.

If you feel ill or experience flu-like symptoms, we urge you to stay home and seek medical care.

We encourage all patrons to remain vigilant for more updates to come and follow hygiene practices as published by the CDC:

•    Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
•    Cover your cough or sneeze with a fixed elbow or tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
•    Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
•    Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
•    Wash your hands frequently with hot water and soap for 20 seconds.

Please feel free to contact Fantasy Theatre Factory at 305-284-8800 regarding any questions related to our events.
