Rommel Arellan-Marinas
Associate Artistic Director
Rommel Arellan-Marinas has been with Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater for over 11 years, currently serving as the Associate Artistic Director. In this role, Rommel is central to managing the logistical and technical operations for productions both on tour and at the Sandrell Rivers Theater. He also directs the marketing efforts, ensuring that each production reaches its intended audience effectively.
Rommel's expertise in theater production is complemented by his academic background, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance from Florida International University. He has been instrumental in staging notable FTF productions, and his leadership extends to nurturing new initiatives like the Play Reading Series 'New Year, New Works' and the Cultural Arts Partnership, CAP@SRT program, which supports emerging arts organizations.
His achievements in directing and arts administration have earned him national recognition, including the prestigious National Directing Award and the SDC Fellowship from the Kennedy Center. In 2023, he was honored with the South Florida Theatre League Award for his significant contributions to children’s theater. Beyond his direct responsibilities, Rommel contributes to the broader arts community as a member of the Miami-Dade County’s Emerging Arts Leaders Steering Committee, Arts Task Force for the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Florida Professional Theater Association, showcasing his commitment to advancing the arts across the region.
